The faculty and staff at Diboll Junior High would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to a new school year. We look for this to be another exciting year filled with academic and personal growth for all kids on campus. The staff wants to thank you for allowing us to work with your most valued possession, your son or daughter. We take on this responsibility and understand that you have high expectations of us as well as we do for ourselves.
Student folders will provide you with important information to guide you through the upcoming year. The Student Code of Conduct, Student Handbook, and Acceptable Use Policy are located online this year at http://www.dibollisd.com/ . These documents outline the expectations that have been set forth by the district. If you need a hard copy of any of these documents, please complete and return the appropriate form. You will also find in this folder many forms that need to be filled out and returned to your child's second period teacher when they return to school. It is essential that we have these forms as they provide us with valuable information. We will be glad to answer any questions that you may have.
As we move toward a new testing and accountability system in Texas, the expectations for students and all stakeholders have dramatically increased. Due to this, students and staff will be held too much higher academic standards.
Significant changes to the campus this year will be moving from six weeks grading periods to nine week grading periods. Students will still receive eligibility reports every three weeks during the year. The district will also be moving to a new student data management system called Skyward. Parents will still be able to access their child's grades with the addition of attendance and discipline information. We will provide each parent with the information needed to login to the new Skyward network.
