General Course Description as Stated by the TEA

The Fine Arts, as universal languages, incorporate the study of dance, music, theatre, and the visual arts to offer unparalleled experiences and empower students to explore realities, relationships, and ideas. The Fine Arts engage and motivate all students through active learning, critical thinking, and innovative problem-solving. Our disciplines develop cognitive functioning and increase student academic achievement, higher order thinking skills, communication, and collaboration. Students develop relevant aesthetic and cultural awareness through exploration leading to creative expression. Creativity is essential and the study of the Fine Arts nurtures and develops the whole child.

Bio

My name is Jesucita Menz and I love being a part of the Diboll Junior High Family. I was born and raised right here in Diboll and I could not be more proud to be serving my community in such a cool, and fun way. We are busy Lumberjacks in our Art classes and are working on really cool projects. We are essentially studying the elements and principles of design. We will also work on different art history research projects in each grade level. Students are also introduced to a variety of media, techniques and applications for working in art. I am here to serve our students and to provide them with a safe environment for learning, and the freedom to express themselves visually in a successful way. GO JACKS!!!
