Diboll ISD Sees Growth in State Accountability Ratings, Earns Multiple Distinction Designations
Diboll, TX - The Texas Education Agency has released the 2024–25 accountability ratings, and Diboll ISD is celebrating notable gains alongside important areas for continued growth.
Districtwide Improvement
The district’s overall rating increased from a C (77) in 2023–24 to a C (79) in 2024–25, marking steady upward progress. Gains were seen in School Progress, which rose from 78 to 80, and in several campus-level components, reflecting the district’s focus on improving instruction and outcomes across all grade levels.
Campus Highlight
Diboll High School jumped from a B (80) last year to a B (84) this year. The campus posted strong results in College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) with a 90 (A) scaled score and maintained a perfect 100% graduation rate.
Distinction Designations
Three campuses earned Distinction Designations this year—a recognition awarded to schools that perform in the top 25% of their comparison group in specific areas.
- Diboll High School: Academic Achievement in Mathematics
- Diboll Junior High: Academic Achievement in Science
- H.G. Temple Intermediate: Academic Achievement in Science
Earning these distinctions places each campus among the highest-performing schools in the state in those categories.
Areas for Growth
While Diboll ISD is encouraged by the gains, district leaders acknowledge opportunities for improvement—particularly in Closing the Gaps and certain Academic Growth measures at specific campuses. Diboll Junior High and Diboll Intermediate saw a slight decline in scores from 2023-24 to 2024-2025 (see graph).
A Plan for Continued Success
Superintendent Dr. Igor Gusyakov emphasized that the district is already being proactive, starting the year with a range of initiatives to address these needs. These include:
- Built-in school day tutorials to ensure all students receive timely academic support.
- Better-aligned curriculum to strengthen learning continuity across grade levels.
- Improved planning practices that empower teachers to deliver high-quality instruction.
- Partnerships with Region 7 and Region 5 Education Service Centers, as well as multiple Temple Foundation initiatives, to expand resources and professional development opportunities.
“Our progress shows that we are on the right track,” Dr. Gusyakov said. “The distinctions earned by our campuses demonstrate that our students and staff can compete with the best in Texas, and we are committed to continuing this upward momentum.”
